Tia Boatman Patterson is the Associate Director of Housing, Treasury, & Commerce at the White House Office of Management & Budget. Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the California Housing Finance Agency from 2014-2021 and Governor Gavin Newsom’s Senior Advisor for housing from 2019-2020. Prior to 2014, Ms. Boatman Patterson was general counsel for the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and previously served as special assistant to two Speakers of the California State Assembly, providing policy expertise on housing, community development, trade and commerce and economic development. Ms. Boatman Patterson served on the Board of Directors for the National Council of State Housing Agencies from September 2015 to February 2021, and was elected Chair of the Board in October 2018 and 2019. She has also been a member of the National Housing Conference’s National Advisory Council, the Freddie Mac Housing for Tomorrow Council, and the BBVA Compass Bank Community Advisory Board. In addition, Ms. Boatman Patterson was a member of the Fannie Mae Affordable Housing Advisory Council from 2015-18, chairing the Council from 2016-17. Ms. Boatman Patterson received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Diego State University, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
