FirstNet Authority Statement on FOP, AT&T Alliance to Educate Officers about the FirstNet Network

May 18, 2020

(Reston, VA) The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) today released the following statement regarding the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and AT&T’s alliance to educate members on FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network:

“The brave men and women of America’s law enforcement community are on the front lines of keeping our communities safe,” said FirstNet Authority CEO Edward Parkinson. “The FOP was one of the first organizations to support the creation of a nationwide public safety broadband network, and now we are proud to support their officers with the deployment of FirstNet in every state and territory. This powerful collaboration between AT&T and FOP will help officers learn more about their dedicated public safety broadband network and we hope as a result it will help them save lives and keep themselves safe.”

Through the alliance, the National FOP and AT&T have committed to educating law enforcement officers about the benefits of FirstNet and the impact it can have on public safety communications, agencies and individual users. Learn more about the alliance.

FirstNet, built with AT&T in a public-private partnership with the FirstNet Authority, is the only nationwide broadband network built with and for public safety.
