The FirstNet Authority joined New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, Safety Commissioner Robert Quinn, AT&T, and other public safety officials at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to mark several milestones in the state’s buildout of FirstNet. The event took place in advance of National First Responders Day (October 28th), a chance to recognize members of public safety and highlight efforts to support them, such as the ongoing collaboration between the State of New Hampshire and FirstNet, Built with AT&T

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced the appointment of Sean McDevitt to serve on the Board of the First Responder Network Authority. Mr. McDevitt is a partner with international management consulting firm Arthur D. Little. He brings 30 years of executive experience in the private sector to the FirstNet Authority Board, specializing in business development, business expansion, leadership, account management, and client project delivery in the telecommunications and technology sectors.

(Tacoma, WA) – The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) Board today approved a $451 million budget package to fund operations in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) and to explore opportunities for network enhancements.

In Wisconsin, Winnebago County has adopted FirstNet, a broadband communication network dedicated to first responder use. The FirstNet network will help improve the county’s communication capabilities and public safety services across its departments, including the Sherriff’s Office. With this initiative in place, the county is now equipped with cutting-edge tools, a secure network, and guaranteed priority access to help streamline their operations.

The First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) awarded Teri Takai the prestigious Chief Harlin R. McEwen Public Safety Broadband Communications Award. Takai received this award for her remarkable leadership and significant contributions to the advancement of broadband communications for public safety. Chief (ret.) Harlin R. McEwen and FirstNet Authority leaders presented the award at the 5x5: The Public Safety Innovation Summit, hosted by the FirstNet Authority and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Public Safety Communications Research Division.
